ABetterAmerica.org is in its early days. We do not yet have a formal organization or registered charity. Instead, we need people to join a personal support team for John M. Woodman and family, in order to help us progress in our next stages.
Every penny you can contribute is valuable. And recurring contributions are especially valuable!
Because we don’t yet have a registered organization, contributions are NOT tax-deductible. Legally, ABetterAmerica.org is currently operating as a sole proprietorship. In essence, you’re hiring John M. Woodman to work on things you’d like to see done.
Of course, this is really only of relevance if you itemize your deductions (most Americans currently don’t).

Of course, you may find it easier and more convenient to use an automatic system for monthly contributions. Zelle — which is a bank-to-bank system — looks to be a great option. As long as your bank or credit union participates (and something like 75% of banks do) you can set Zelle up automatically… and it’s totally free! (I personally find it difficult to argue with “totally free…”)
So any contribution you may make through Zelle go 100% to their destination, instead of having 2 or 3 percent go to credit card companies.
You can sign up for Zelle at https://www.zellepay.com/ or through your local bank, and direct your payments to: email@example.com.
If you should need some help setting Zelle up, feel free to ask! I can remote into your computer, for example, and we can click around together and find the option needed.
If you can’t or don’t want to use Zelle, PayPal is also possible. This may also be free to receive, since it’s a donation or gift to individuals. But I won’t be totally sure until we test it.
How much do we currently need to raise? Our total target is around $5,000 per month. How far along are we? Well, we’ve started gaining support, but are still in the very early stages. We currently still need to raise around $4,850.
